ROCKNROLL SUICIDE......Repression is truly so unbelievable. The self-inflicted limits that dig their heels in so deep it inhibits you from true enjoyment? I’m so glad to be untethered from that although I fear I may have become too unhinged. Being free has its own constructs, believe it or not haha! There is a cost to giving it all away. TRUE NAKEDNESS. There’s a terrible Seinfeld joke about wanting a belt to wear while you’re naked so you can have something to adjust. Maybe that’s why people pierce their bellybuttons or cocks or whatever so there’s something to smooth down or refine or tinker with- I know that’s not why people do that, though…. Guarding oneself is necessary at times, sure. (Reading the room, taking the temperature of social situations) but when the discernible personality trait you have is aloof coolness, doesn’t it just collapse in on itself? Being “out there” can be grating but being arms-crossed abject and bored is nothing to work with. Language is it!, after all. Smugness is one thing, and repression is another. The refusal to give context or any clues is not abstraction nor is it conceptual. It’s prolonging the fear of being an outsider when we all want to be in on it. To give nothing is a choice, but how long can that schtick last? Looking at something is the result of a series of actions and decisions to arrive in front of it. It’s not the same as noticing nor capture. It’s not finding meaning in the mundane. It’s no kitchen sink-ism. The precedent is set by history. We all wanna be let in on it; we all wanna get brought into the fold.
